The school year has officially ended! It's Easter weekend too, but Japan doesnt really celebrate Easter. We've seen a couple of decorations here and there but really not much. However the current buzz is all about the blooming cherry blossoms! They're beginning to bloom all across the country like a wave. They're predicted to be in full bloom in Tokyo starting this weekend for the next two weeks.
Next weekend we plan on visiting Ueno Park in Tokyo for the cherry blossom festival. Before that Kris and I will attend a volunteer teaching event talking to kids about Easter in the US. And until then we're just doing the same ol' everyday stuff- working on art/videos and living our lives.
Recently the Family Mart convenience store near our house was remodeled. When it finally opened they had ¥500 grab bags of random treats for sale, so Kris and I decided to get one! We made a video of us opening it and seeing all the treats we got, you can see it here:
Currently we've been watching our way through the Harry Potter movies. We're dying to see Deadpool but it doesnt come out in Japan until AUGUST! Its insane. We think its because they'll be cutting it up and censuring a bunch out of it, but who knows. We haven't been studying too much Japanese lately, really just been on a mental vacation. Its been really nice actually. Alright, time to watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix!
